Some of the churches built in the Normandy fashion after the Norman Conquest, such as the Abbey Church at Ely, were more evident of being built in the traditional Anglo-Saxon design. Norwich Cathedral, referred to being "second generation" Norman style, is a development of the Norman-Anglo-Saxon church style. Norwich combines recognizable English features, such as a long nave, with Norman architectural decoration and ornaments, a zigzag arch pattern. Peterborough Cathedral continues the structural logic found in Normandy.
